Can you believe that I’m 38 weeks pregnant??
Only 2 more weeks until my due date!
I have a feeling he’ll be a little late, though.
My mom went in to labor about a week early with my oldest sister and both my older sisters gave birth on their due dates with their first babies. What are the chances of that!
If I follow the trend with the woman in my immediate family, I won’t go past my due date, but I’ve just had this feeling for a while now that he won’t be ready at 40 weeks.
Especially if he takes after his dad who was 2 weeks late! Eeekkk!!
Let’s see what the little guy is up to this week.

He may have about an inch or so of hair already.
He’s slowly shedding that white goo on his skin (called vernix caseosa) but you might see some of it at birth.
His lungs are continuing to mature more & more!

What’s New?
Days until my due date: 14!
Bradley Method Classes Left: We have our last class on Thursday!
Important days in August: Rinaldo’s birthday is on the 2nd, our 2nd wedding anniversary is on the 10th and our due date, the 13th, is my brother and sister-in-laws 1st wedding anniversary! When will be Roberto’s birthday???
Nesting: I’ve been in full nesting mode lately. I organized many closets, cabinets and rooms in our home.
Maternity Clothes: I’m so over wearing the same things each week. I’ve ruined a few shirts with oil stains while cooking, so I have even less to decide from! Grrr…
How I’m Feeling
I still feel great! My blood pressure remains low (very important at this point in pregnancy) and my doctor is always happy with my progress. I have an appointment later today. He probably won’t check me until next week’s appointment when I’ll be 39 weeks.
I’m feeling prepared! We pretty much have everything set for Roberto’s arrival.
His car seat is installed in my car and the swing is all set up. (Thanks to Auntie Maria for helping me with the swing!)
The pack N’ play is set up in our room for now because we’ll be using it as a bassinet for him to sleep in the first few weeks until we move him to his room.
Hospital bags are all set to go! Just have to add last minute things like phone chargers and my glasses.
I really can’t believe that Roberto will be here so soon. Pregnancy definitely wasn’t as bad as I had imagined it to be. I thought during my last month I’d just feel huge, tired and scared, but instead I feel great and ready! I do get more tired when I over do it on some days, but I really have had an amazing pregnancy and feel truly blessed. I hope this means that my labor will go by just as smoothly, but we’ll just have to see. I’m ready for all the hard work I have ahead of me and am hoping for the best birth experience possible for me.
I mentioned a few weeks ago that Rinaldo & I took some maternity pictures when I was 33 weeks. I promised to share them with you so I’ll leave you with my favorite ones!
I hope you all had a great weekend!
