I can’t believe I’m only 6 weeks away from my due date! It seems so close yet so far away though. I feel like I have so much to get done. Finish the nursery, wash his clothes, pack our hospital bag, put together the swing, pack n’ play, stroller, etc….. I better get to it!
Of course this has been one of the hottest and driest summers in Chicago! I haven’t been spending too much time outside, only in the early mornings or later at night after dinner. Last summer, Rinaldo & I spent so much time outdoors riding bikes & taking walks and I kind of miss that! We can’t wait till Roberto gets here and we can spend some time outdoors as the weather cools off for fall.
Let’s see what baby Roberto has been up to lately!

He’s recognizing and reacting to simple songs, if you’re singing them. (If you’re not, start! He may find them soothing after birth.)
He’s also urinating about a pint a day.
Those tiny fingernails have probably reached the tips of his fingers by now.

How I’m Feeling
I’m still feeling really good! I’m trying not to keep track of time too much because I don’t want the time to pass by slowly. I will stop working when I reach my 9th month in a couple weeks and I’m worried that my days will start to drag a little more. I have lots that I want to get done around the house and in his nursery, so I’m thinking that as long as I keep myself busy, time will continue to fly by!
My meals have been pretty boring lately. I always get into a funk where I don’t feel like being creative and eat very simple dishes. I’m hoping to stock up on groceries later today and start to experiment more in the kitchen!
With a growing belly, I’m starting to get more and more uncomfortable. Some days are better than others, but it’s mainly at night where my belly just feels so full, heavy and tight. Many times I get short of breathe, but as long as I sit down or change positions lying down it goes away. I can’t really complain though, pregnancy has treated me very well!
Let’s hope things continue to go smoothly for baby & I!
