Sugar-Free Challenge Update

Hi-ya there!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! I’ve been a little under the weather lately, I felt like I was coming down with something the past two days, so I did what I always do.

Rested and Juiced.

I go through phases with juicing, but when I’m feeling sick, it’s a must! I truly believe that it helps too. I juiced after work yesterday and again this morning and I’m already feeling better. Although, a co-worker just told me that I looked really tired…

juice Maybe she saw the green juice that I spilled all over my belly this morning. I guess I shouldn’t drink and drive!

:)

Anyways, just wanted to check in to see how the Sugar Free Challenge is going for those who are participating!

sugar_free It’s been going really well for me. Did I mention that Rinaldo is doing the challenge with me? He never had a sweet tooth until he met me… It’s been great that I have him as support too. There have been a few times where we both would’ve liked to go out for ice cream or order dessert at a restaurant, but we stayed strong!

He’s been loving all the sugar free treats I’ve been making.

balls I made these Chocolate-Coconut Fudge Bites a few days ago and he totally dominated them. I made about 20 and I think I only had like 4 or 5 of them. He loved them and said that they tasted like they shouldn’t be healthy. Score! I’m going to play with the recipe one more time today and then I’ll post the recipe tomorrow!

Before I go, I wanted to share something that has been helping me a lot through this challenge.

NuNaturalsI tried liquid stevia (an all natural herbal sweetener) several months ago. I purchased the Whole Foods brand and honestly never liked it. I used it here and there, but it always had such a horrible after taste.

Maria recommended me trying NuNaturals Vanilla Liquid Stevia, and boy am I glad she did! I’ve been using it in everything from protein muffins to those fudge bites and I’m loving it. It’s sweet and doesn’t leave you with a bitter after taste.

I even used some to sweeten up some fresh whipped cream last night to go with our banana soft serve and it worked really well! I highly recommend giving the NuNaturals Stevia a try if you’re looking to reduce the amount of sugar you eat. They have other flavors like orange and lemon too.

Well, I’ll be back tomorrow with the Chocolate-Coconut Fudge Bites Recipe!

Have you tried liquid stevia before?

If you’re participating in the challenge, how’s it going so far??

I’m so psyched about the sugar free challenge! It’s been awesome and I can already feel the improvements in my body and the way I feel. I did have to allow myself to have my pre-workout drink (which contains sucralose) because my workouts tend to be somewhat intense. However, even so, the sucralose is at the bottom of the ingredient list.
I’m thrilled for this recipe!! Can’t wait to try it!
Thanks for motivating us to start the challenge!

Don’t drink and drive Lisa. Shame on you! haha ;)

I go through phases with juicing too! I’d love to have green juice everyday, but cleaning the  juicer is such a pain. I just called out my own laziness, eh? ;)

That is my favorite stevia ever. I like plain, but the vanilla liquid from NuNaturals is the BEST! They sent me some a couple years ago to try, and that marketing tactic worked like a charm because I buy it all the time and recommend it too. Lol.
I think the idea of the sugar free challenge seems much harder than it is once you get going—and realize that you can have super yummy things that aren’t sugary… It does impact social situations and eating out, but once that’s normal, it’s way better to know you’re doing something great for your body!
How great that Rinaldo is on board! Joe is super supportive of things I do like the sugar free challenge, but he usually doesn’t participate. I give him a few more years….he’s completely changed how he eats since he met me (and I’m not sure he totally realizes it! muhahahaha)…

Boo! I just gave away a bottle of that Stevia because it had been sitting in my pantry forever and I never got around to using it. Maybe I’ll have to borrow it back from my friend to see if I like it. ;) Looking forward to the recipe!

I hope you feel better, Lisa! Ugh..sick and pregnant is never fun!!!

I love love love NuNaturals. I have tried other stevia and IMO it;s all bitter and gives me a headache. This is perfect! I use it all the time!!!

My sugar free is going just okay. I did have a NibMor bar tonight. It’s so low in sugar (non processed) but still sugar. Other than that I’ve been great! I make so many treats that are sugar free it’s been easy! I am thinking about doing   detox too to get my GI system cleaned out and my system as a whole. Spring cleaning ;-)
